As a medivac pilot in Vietnam, Chaplain Larry Sharp knew the risks of war and the uncertainty of families left behind. Anticipating deployment for Desert Storm, he wanted to leave his children a reminder of his love in case he did not come home. Inspired by Luke 15:31 and George Strait, Chaplain Sharp tucked his children in at night with a prayer, a kiss and the words There-Is-No-End to which each child responded To-A-Father"s-Love. Eventually they shortened their secret code to TINE TAFL. This Shield is made in honor of all service members who serve in far places but leave behind a reminder TINE TAFL.
