Since September 1956 the Marines from the "Oldest Post of the Corps" - Marine Barracks, 8th&I, Washington, DC - have hosted at the Marine Corps War Memorial near the Arlington National Cemetery, an elaborate military celebration during the summer months known as ' The Sunset Parade. Featuring performances by the United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps with it's "Music in Motion" and the precision rifle handling of the famous Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, this parade stands as a lasting tribute to those for whom "uncommon valor was a common virtue."
